WHO WE ARE

Get to know us a bit by reading below.  To see when tutors are scheduled to be in the center, click HERE.  If you want to make an appointment with them any other time, click the "Make an Appointment" link and fill out the form.  Understand that we need 24 hour+ notice to work out an appointment outside of our regular hours, and that tutors have other things going on in their lives too and may not be able to accommodate you.

Kylie Jones, Senior

Current Courses:

My writing strengths: 

I enjoy reading which I feel has strengthened my writing skills over time, especially for choosing description words. I almost always plan my essay before I write it which helps me out with my structure.

​

Why I became a writing tutor:

I love helping people when it’s something that I am capable of doing. I also think being a writing tutor might be a way to see the different methods of writing and potentially learn from the people I help.

​

Fun fact:

I love having short hair, and have had short hair since my freshman year.

Olivia Espino, Junior

My writing strengths: 

I am good at non fiction writing. I am also good at structuring my writing and using eloquent and concise language. ¡Hablo Español!

Why I became a writing tutor:

I want to help people while also simultaneously improving my own writing.

​

Fun fact:

I do colorguard.

My writing strengths: 

I am proficient at forming ideas and putting them into words. I also am able to do analysis and structured essays.

​

Why I became a writing tutor:

I always look forward to opportunities where I can extend my knowledge and skills to help others become more confident in their own abilities. Writing is one way I am excited to pursue that goal!

​

Fun fact:

I love guac and chips.

Joanne Tudor, Senior

My writing strengths: 

I enjoy writing songs in my spare time, but I also love an analytical prompt or working on a research paper.

​

Why I became a writing tutor:

English is always one of my favorite subjects in school, and I love to help others with their writing. One of my potential college majors is creative writing or English related major in general.

​

Fun fact:

I love to ski! I've been skiing since age 3.

Why I became a writing tutor:

I enjoy helping people and enjoy the process of writing. As well as seeing the unique writing style of every individual.

Fun fact:

I really, really love coffee and espresso! :)

My writing strengths: 

I like writing theses of an essay and am good at creating a clear focus throughout my writing and understandable structure.

​

Why I became a writing tutor:

Believe it or not, I used to hate writing and would constantly avoid it in middle school and the beginning of highschool. But recently, I have learned that writing doesn’t have to be as bad and daunting as it seems. I want to help people make that realization and learn to enjoy the writing process.

​

Fun fact:

I hate eating cheese and drinking milk!

My writing strengths: 

I like writing argumentative essays and informative essays because I feel like I can make strong points. I also enjoy writing creative essays.

Why I became a writing tutor:

I want to help people get better at English and enjoy writing.

Fun fact:

I am obsessed with oreos!

I've always enjoyed reading and writing and want to help others improve their writing skills.

My current favorite book is 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez.
